Over the Christmas Holidays, Powell Gym, on the campus of Prattville High School, got a much needed facelift. For the first time since its original construction, the floor of the gym was totally stripped down, sanded completely, and refinished to its original luster. With the additions of the painted "3-point area" and the large Power "P" logo at center court, the gym floor is looking better than ever. The stage of the multi-purpose facility got the same treatment which will add additional brightness to the many performances of the PHS Theater Group and concerts put on by the PHS Concert Band. New protective padding was also added on the stage entrance ways. Powell Gym is a major part of the Prattville High School experience being the home of the basketball, volleyball, wrestling, and archery teams for the Lions as well as serving as banquet and primary meeting and student assembly area.
