Familiar Face Takes Over Prattville Wrestling

Long time Prattville Jr. High School coach Scott Stein takes over as head coach of Prattville High School's varsity wrestling program. Originally from Iowa, Coach Stein went to Clinton High and graduated in 1979. In that same year, he also captured an Iowa High School State Championship in golf. After moving to Alabama, he earned a degree in Finance and Accounting from AUM and was in the banking industry for 18 years. In 2004, he started coaching wrestling. First at Wetumpka, then moving to Prattville the following year. There he was a Pre-Algebra teacher at PJHS where he has coached wrestling,football, softball, golf baseball, basketball and track over the years. Most of Coach Stein's family has been involved with the Prattville Wrestling program in some capacity. His wife was the President of the Takedown club, his dad helped with the team for many years, both of his sons wrestled in Jr. High and High School, and his mom took gate money for years.


Another familiar face will be assisting Coach Stein as Hall of Famer and legendary Prattville Wrestling coach Trent Miller will help out along with Alex Smith and Cline Countryman.
